Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Swelling In Legs And Feet With A History Of Asthma?
Now Excessive swelling in legs and feet. Two months ago I had routine cop appt and blood work. Ced rate elevated to 37, have follow up and colonoscopy scheduled. Should I worry. Also history. I have Hbp,asthma, sleep apnea, obesity 265 lbs, severe gerd, had partial left nephrectomy on left kidney 2011. Had large non cancerous mass 4-5 cm.
Excessive swelling in the legs and feet may be due to several causes from heart problems, liver diseases (if they complicate with cirrhosis), kidney function decline, etc.
Asthma, with time, may cause pressure on the right side of the heart and cause pressures to build up backward and cause leg swelling. You will need to have a heart ultrasound, liver function tests, urea, creatinine, electrolytes in the blood, etc.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
