Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m 23 weeks pregnant and I was ordered to go for the ogtt test and the results came back saying I have diabetes. Then I was transferred to the regional hospital to manage the situation and there I was also ordered to go for the sgtt test and I refused because sugary foods makes me sick when I m pregnant. My question is did i make a right choice bcz after eating something with sugar I become extremely thirsty and dizzy, I m trying to protect my baby
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have excessive thirst and dizziness. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like food poisoning , medication reaction or side-effect , motion sickness and iron poisoning . The symptoms can also occur due to diabetic condition , cardiac condition or ear infection . But in your case the symptoms can also occur due to hormonal changes. I would suggest you to consult general physician for proper examination . Doctor may check vitals , order chest x-ray along with ECG and complete blood profile . Doctor may prescribe anticoagulant , antiemetic drug and may refer you to gynecologist for proper diagnosis and treatment . Stay calm , drink plenty of water and take proper rest.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
