Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Tiredness After Suffering From Cold?
13 yo slight cough slight runny nose. This is day two for fever but today it s hitting 103.8 without any medication. I have given her tylenol for the first time (was trying to let her body fight it) and am still waiting for it to kick in. What should I look for over night before taking her to the doctor in the morning. She says she s tired but not achy, no sore throat or upset stomach. Eating a little less but still normal.
Fever that high needs urgent treatment especially in children. My advice to you is take her to a pediatrician so that she will get appropriate treatment. The tiredness and weakness is due to the symptoms she is having along with fever.
Our body fights on its own up to a certain limit and after that, we need medical attention to prevent ourselves from getting worse. You should not wait for your child to recover on her own till the fever reaches this high. The common cold and runny nose get better with time but if proper medical care is given it helps more in recovery from illness. Keep her hydrated adequately and take her to the doctor so that her condition will improve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Manisha Auradkar,
