What Causes Excessive Vaginal Bleeding After A Hysteroscopy?
Hi, I just had a hysteroscopy and removal of a uterus polyph. It is Saturday and I started to have heavy bleeding, specially Saturday night. Today Sunday I am still bleeding. I do not have pain, just bloating and also my period was due on Monday, can the hysteroscopy bring my period days before and maybe the bleeding is my period? Thanks.
Hysteroscopy can lead to different effects from mild bleeding to pain which can be managed with appropriate medicines given by your doctor after the procedure.
It is possible that you are experiencing the bleeding because of the procedure or maybe its menstrual blood.
I would advise you to go to your doctor or ER if the bleeding is heavy and continuous. It needs to be examined and know whats causing the bleeding.
Once your doctor assures you of nothing risky and it's just the menstrual blood then you can go home and follow your doctor’s advice on further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
