OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. The tampon left inside might have led to infection which can get spread upto the uterus. This causes foul smelling discharge, bleeding, fever with shivering pain in lower abdomen.
I would suggest you to immediately consult your OBGYN specialist so that you can be properly examined and investigated and appropriate antibiotics are started so that you are treated in time. Otherwise the infection can spread in the body to cause a serious disease called Toxic Shock syndrome.
Hope this answers your question.
Wishing you good health.
