Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Excessive Vaginal Discharge After Intercourse?
I m a 63 yr old woman who had a hysterectomy 9 years ago. The last couple times my husband and I have been intimate the next day I have a vaginal discharge all day long. So much so I have to wear several pantyliners throughout the day to stay dry. What the heck is going on?
Your symptoms would be cervicitis (cervix irritation, dysplasia and infection, if cervix has been there) and bacterial or fungal infection. I would suggest to consult gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination vaginal swab test and vaginal swab test, urine routine and microscopic examination, STD screening, PAP smear to rule out cervical dysplasia, USG scan and rule out the polyp by speculum examination.
Consult the gynecologist for following proper treatment.keep your genitals dry and clean and maintain hygiene by using V vaginal plus wash, wash with warm salty water 2-3 times in a day, drink plenty of water. If you are sexually active then maintain hygiene and take tab. candid placed in vagina every night up to 6 days. You can also take single dose treatment of Azithromycin + Tinidazole + Fluconazole.
Hope this will help you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
