What Causes Excessive Vaginal Discharge?

Recently I have gone to my obgyn because for a very long time now I have been getting vaginal discharge , she treated me for a bacterial infection and I m still getting it , the discharge is white but not clumpy like cottage cheese it s more of a wetness and goo sortve it has a little odor but it s not like horrible like fishy or anything what could this be ? My doctor said vaginal discharge is normal but is a constant discharge normal ?
