Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
While using tampons on my period they have been filling up with a clear, odorless liquid. I have been getting very minimal blood but i seem to keep getting this fluid for the first 2-3 days of my period. I have also used pads and even they get filled with this liquid. There is so much fluid that i have to change pads or tampon every 1-3 hours and most of the time it soaks through my underwear as if i peed but i did not. It only happens during my period and thats it. It has been happening for some time now and my period seem to be more irregular than normal. I have no kids although i have had to have a D&C before due to a miscarriage and i am not currently on birthcontrol although i ve been on depo and arm implant in the past. No doctor has seem to know what the cause is. Sorry for the TMI.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It seems from your symptoms that you might have contracted a uterine infection after the miscarriage. You can consult a gynae and get internal examination done. A course of antibiotics might be the only thing required. If still it does not get relieved then I suggest you go in for hormone tests like tsh, LH, fsh, prolactin and a scan abdomen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Khyati Segan
