What Causes Excessive Weight Loss While Suffering From H.pylori Infection?
I was diagnosed with H pylori about a year ago. And did the triple therapy antibiotics and started to feel a lot better and then maybe 2 weeks or 3 weeks after I was done with them my symptoms came back again. And now I m just back to being miserable a lot of the time and have lost 30 pounds. I m tired of getting tests done and spending a lot of money on those. Just to be told I do not have H pylori any more! Not really sure what to do at this point
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Sorry to hear what you are going through Weight loss could be caused by many medical conditions. However, with a past history of H pylori infection a gastric cancer should be eliminated with an endoscopic exam. This is common with people with chronic H pylori infection.Other possible causes of unexplained weight loss may include: -Peptic ulcer -Ulcerative colitis -Tuberculosis be it pulmonary or extrapulmonary -Hyperthyroidism/Hypothyroidism -Diabetes -HIV/AIDS -Hypercalcemia -Crohn's disease -Other Cancers -Celiac disease -Changes in diet or appetite -Changes in sense of smell -Changes in sense of taste -And many others. I will suggest you see your Doctor for evaluation and investigations. In the meantime, i will reccommend -Health diet -Rest -multivitamins Hope this will help Best regards
