What Causes Exhaustion And Leg Ache After Physical Work?

I am 72 and lately when I do moderate physical work for several hours after an hour or so I become very exhausted. My legs begin to ache and eventually feel like they are made of lead and it becomes an effort to just walk at more than a slow pace. At that point I have to push myself to walk across the yard because my legs feel so exhausted. Also my feet ache very badly, with the soles of my feet being very painful to walk on. This condition started about a month ago when my mother was dying in Hospice and I stayed in the room with her for 13 days without much exercise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is quite normal after heavy exertion and will settle by itself.

As the first step, you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Tramadol for pain relief. Drink plenty of water as dehydration can worsen the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
