Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started taking cymbalta a week ago, it was prescribed to take at bedtime which I did the first few nights and I couldn t sleep even with the mertazapine I take at night which has always given me a good nights sleep. Now I am taking it in the morning and it s making me feel very anxious like I want to crawl out of my skin. Is this a side effect and should I continue taking it? I m taking it for chronic back pain.
Yeah, it can do that. Cymbalta has stress hormone effects. On the one hand, this can stimulate the spine to block some pain perception, on the other hand it is a stress hormone and can cause anxiety, cardiac toxicity, etc.
