What Causes Extreme Burning Sensation On The Lips?
Hello, for the last two days I ve had a burning sensation on my lips, I ve been using a lot of Vaseline to sooth it but is not working. Now my upper lip is sort of oozing out a yellow form that s crusted on my lip. The border of my lips are sensitive as well. I have no access to a doctor since I m on vacation with no travel insurance. I need to know what s happening.
It looks like you have bacterial infection over your lip leading to pus discharge, pain and inflammation..
As you are not able to reach a doctor right now,you can start applying antiseptic ointment over the crusted area of the lip.. You should first of all clean the lip with an antiseptic solution, try and drain off the pus as much as possible and then apply antiseptic ointment over it.. If your lips are burning and painful you should also take Advil for relief.. Do cool compresses over the lips.. Avoid exposing to very cold or very hot air or direct sunlight to prevent worsening..
If there is no improvement then you can consult a local emergency service..
Hope this helps..
Regards. Dr.Honey Arora.
