What Causes Extreme Chills Post A Flu Shot?

Husband is taking Sulfa antibiotic for Prostate Infection which he started 11-2.16. on 11-3-16, he got his Flu shot. He has been having terrible chills ever since the flu shot and cannot get warm. No congestion, no headache, but skin is very touchy like the flu. And he cannot get warm. Has a fever or 101. He is at the doctor now. They are viewing for hepatitis. I am thinking a reaction to the antibiotics, which has these side affects. Could also be from a tick bite that he received within the month?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to a side effect of the flu shot.

I suggest you to give anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen if needed.

The symptoms will go away on its own in a few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
