General & Family Physician 's  Response
Short answer : Yes.

Elaboration : It seems she is diabetic and if she is yet undiagnosed it's time to do some investigation quickly.
Diabetic patients couldn't utilize glucose in their body for energy. They either lack insulin or their cells are becoming less sensitive to insulin. Insulin is hormone needed for sugar utilization.
Thus unused sugar starts raising in blood but as patient can't utilize it he feels well weak. Body finds another mechanism to meet energy demands .....it breaks fats but byproduct of if this process is toxic which increases the acidity of blood (cause nauvomiting) and makes the thing worse.
But don't panic. Collect some urine sample and test it for urinary ketone.if its negative, you don't have to worry much.Visit a physician. He will check for urinary sugar and ketone, random blood sugar and will administer proper insulin dose accordingly. He will also look for cause of fall...as well as any injury caused due to it.
He may ask for some other blood tests to rule out any undergoing infection.
It is advisable to follow following measures in diabetic pt for better sugar control and prevention of other health risks in long term.
1)Get HbA1C , serum creatinine, lipid profile, urine analysis ( specially for proteins)

2)visit ophthalmologist... Eye specialist... To rule out diabetic retinopathy ( eye complication that often eventually happens in diabetic)

3)Get ultrasound KUB done to know/ to rule out if diabetes has done any harm to kidneys.

4) Follow diabetic diet + medications+ exercise + sleep properly.

Hope, It helped you..
