What Causes Extreme Growth In Feet And Toes?

In the last year my feet have grown 3 sizes. Especially my big toes. they always tingle like there gfoing to sleep. I have x-rfays done but they say there is nothing wrong. I 73 yrs old and female. Right now I have to go men s sioze 14. Please can you help me? Thanks

Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the extreme growth in feet and toes.

I have gone through the problem diligently, I am of the opinion that you have a hormonal disorder called Acromegaly.

Acromegaly is caused by excessive production of growth hormone by a tumor of small gland (pituitary) situated at the base of your brain behind the bridge of your nose, produces a number of hormones.
The excessive amounts of growth hormone is responsible many of the signs and symptoms of acromegaly like extreme growth in the hands and feet, protruding lower jaw and brow, an enlarged nose, thickened lips, and wider spacing between the teeth. etc.

Progression of acromegaly can result in complications like high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoarthritis, diabetes mellitus and vision problems.

In view of the above complications, I would advice you to seek a consultation with your physician/endocrinologist for proper evaluation may be you need to be investigated for growth hormone level and MRI.
