What Causes Extreme Hallucinations?

My 96 year old mother has been having very real hallucinations that she calls dreams lately and has been having trouble determining what is real. She has been treated last month for a UTI when I took her to ER for the hallucinations, and that has cleared up, but the problem is persisting now all day as well as night. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Please accept the fact that your mother is old and his body might get altered perception for reality.

Now, the very first thing is to check her urogenital tract regularly by a urologist.

Another consultation with a psychiatrist is highly recommended as might need prescription meds.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
