What Causes Extreme Mood Swings And Severe Anger?

My brother in law is 50 years old and has had irrational mood swings that began in his late 30 s/early 40 s. The angry ourbursts have increased within the last few years and become more intense. He has also experienced hand tremors over the same period of time. He has also been diagnosed with sleep apnea and uses a C-pap at night. He did play football in both high school and college. Wondering if any of these symptoms could be the result of head trauma.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I recommend doing a ct scan of the head to rule out any possible visible problem.

Sleep apnea with oxygen getting to the brain may cause these mood swings too, but can say these only after ruling out another brain problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
