What Causes Extreme Pain Around The Sternum?
My sternum feels like it needs to crack/pop but when I squeeze my shoulders together I get an extreme shooting pain in my right side upper rib cage near the sternum. Same when I cross my arms in front of my body. It hurts to cough, sneeze and take deep breaths. Every time I change position is excruciating and I can t sleep

Your symptoms seem to be related to costochondritis. Costochondritis is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the sternum.
I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. Most of the time costochondritis goes away on its own in a few weeks.
