What Causes Extreme Pain In Legs While Having History Of Brain And Back Injury?

I was in a serious car accident when I was 15 years old, that was 18 years ago. I suffered a exremtely serious head injury where my brain hit forward and shifted cause as of today white spots all over my frontal lob. I also broke my back because I was thrown out of the car 80ft. My 5th Lumbar was shattered and spinal cord fractured. so the doctor did a L5 Lumbar fusion and it work but I had to learn how to walk, talk, eat pretty much was a baby again. I m now 33 and have had 2 children, natural, full term and perfect deliveries and perfect babies. They are 12 and 5 now. Anyways I am now having very bad leg aches every day. I have to takin meds every day and I hate it. Why do my legd hurt so bad?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If you are having severe pain in your legs then you might need surgery as there might be a compression of a nerve at L5 level. However, to guide you properly there is a need to see your MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
