What Causes Extreme Pain In Shoulder When Laying During Sleep?
When i lay on my back to sleep with in an hour of sleeping I wake with extreme pain in my left shoulder only get the pain when I m laying down no matter which position I choose the pain doesn t go away till i get up doesn t hurt when sitting or standing
Hello and welcome t HCM, Pain in shoulder while lying down and disappearance of pain after getting up is suggestive of either musculoskeletal pain or nerve related pain. There could be compression of some nerve in lying position which is causing the pain. Musculoskeletal pain can also aggravate or appear when the body is in certain position. Thus, you need to consult an orthopaedician for clinical assessment of musculoskeletal pain and nerves to make a definitive diagnosis. Management can be planned after a diagnosis is made.
