What Causes Extreme Pain In The Hip And Leg?

I have extreme pain going from my left hip and down my leg. It is really bad in my back thigh I also have pain in my upper back in the area of my lung. I have a history of pulmonary embolism. Dear o I need to go to the er or can I wait to see my primary dr tomorrow

Thanks for contacting with your health concern and since you have a history of pulmonary embolism thus it requires urgent emergency medical intervention by a medical specialist or a vascular surgeon to exclude thrombosis, who may check with relevant examination and investigation (s) to exclude any thromboembolic disorder.

If it comes out to be normal, he might refer you to seek an opinion of Orthopedic Surgeon to exclude sciatica, disc prolapse.
