What Causes Extreme Quads Pain Along With Running Nose And Headaches?

I experience extreme achiness in my quads, queasiness, slight runny nose, and sometimes a headache. Feels like flu symptoms, but it is not. the flu. This has been ongoing for about 8 yrs. and comes and goes every few weeks. The symptoms last a few days and then clear up until the next bout.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to tendency towards recurrent allergies and may need skin prick tests as well as patch tests if needed.

Using oral antihistamines like cetirizine or loratadine during episodes as well as mast cell stabilizer like monteleukast may be used for a longer duration.

The body aches and symptoms of flu seems related though but for reassurance uric acid levels, sugar levels, thyroid profile, and RA factor may be needed to rule out other causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
