Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My almost 2 month old, is salivating more than normal, so much so that he begins choking on it even while sitting upright. The last episode he was in his car seat I had to pull him out and suck it out of his mouth and nose with a boogie sucker for him to start breathing and crying again. It was terrifying, could he be sick or is there anything I can do for him?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The symptoms suggest some problem in mucus membrane of oral cavity. It can be oral thrush (due to bad oral hygiene). Baby needs a direct oral examination to confirm the cause followed by specific treatment (in form of local and oral medications. Please take her for an expert child specialist. Till then keep the baby in a sleeping lateral position to drain out the excess saliva.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
