What Causes Extreme Weight Loss And Light Periods?
My daughter aged 35 recently lost 55lbs in 7 months. Her period became light and her face is extremely broken out. The pores where there is hair folicles on her cheeks & chin are full of puss. She has little or no appitite and just recently #days ago) was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. She is on antibodics. My husband & i are worried sick. Could this be HIV?
Hello,Thankyou for your question Brief...It could be anorexia nervosa Detailed answer... Since you have not mentioned about her sex life, dose she have unprotected sex with different partners,or have she ever been needed blood transfusion or some other risk factors which would make you think about HIV. If yo doubt about it then immidiatly get HIV antibodies test. Otherwise most commonly it could be psycological factor like anorexia nervosa, which nowadays is very common in girls, especialy who are very conscious about their weight and obsessive about getting admiration from anyone. As she is already having infection, light periods, weightloss ..all are signs can happen in this disease. My opininion would be get blood test first and get her checked by a professional counsellar, who can help her get rid of these psycological factor,as it can be treated with mutual understanding between family and health care professional.
