Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I woke up this morning and my right eye was bloodshot. The bottom lid and the right side of the eye is red. The rest of eye is normal. Do I need to be concerned. As far as I know, I did not bump it but I do have dry eyes and have used eye drops today.
Thanks for your query . There could be many reasons for eye redness like lack of adequate amount of treat which create dryness of eye and then redness ,allergic reaction ,dry weather ,dust , or infection.
I would suggest you to rest your eyes , wash them with cold water , don't touch then with dirty hands ,give warm compresses to eyes take antihistamine like benadryl and use over the counter eye drops containing steroids to reduce inflammation of conjunctiva.
If symptoms persist for more then 2 days consult ophthalmologist for proper clinical examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics or artificial tears ( methyle cellulose).
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Please write a review about your experience with me and do click at' i find this answer helpful' if its valuable for you.
