Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have been using a
steroid based cream for a very long duration and I would like to inform you that although steroid based creams can improve the skin complexion but long term use has severe side effects like skin thinning, rashes, increased pigmentation, increased hair growth on face, pimples and swollen veins under the skin..
The symptoms that you are experiencing that are of itching and darkening of skin after stopping the usage of the cream it seems to be due to withdrawal side effects as your skin has become used to it..
I would suggest you to
consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can advised you a tapering method of stopping usage..
In this method the cream usage is gradually withdrawn that is first using the cream once for a day for a week followed by using it every alternate day and then using it once in two days and then gradually stopping the use..
In this way you will not suffer from sudden
withdrawal symptoms..
In case if itching is severe you can also take
anti histamines like Levocetrizine to relieve the itch..
Do cool compresses and use cool water to wash the face..
Once you stop using this cream you can start using safer fairness creams like those containing
Kojic acid,
glycolic acid, arbutin and
Vitamin E..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
