What Causes Facial Skin Itchiness And Sensitivity?

Over the last few months I have noticed that the skin around my eyes is very sensitive to touch, especially under my eyes and my hairline. If I touch my scalp at my hairline with the hairbrush when drying my hair I experience very sharp pain. I am now noticing that if I accidently knock my self that I get a very sharp pain too, which goes away after I rub it but it feels that my skin is extremely sensitive. I am noticing this on the more delicate parts of skin like the inside of wrists but also the back of my hands, arms. Over the last 4-5 days I have noticed that my skin is extremely itch but no rash. Forehead, face, and neck area. I am not taking any medication or have not changed any of my toiletries.

Hello,

Dandruff and inflammatory skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis are the most common causes of itchy scalp. Seborrheic dermatitis can be the result of seasonal changes, fluctuating hormones, stress or yeast infection on the skin. Sometimes, the symptoms can be due to side effects of certain medications that you might have taken or are taking.

Itchiness in the eyes, below the eyes or on face can be triggered by exposure to pollen, mould, dust mites, make-up or chemical cosmetics. The sensitiveness and pain can be due to irritation to the nerves or nerve endings. You are suggested to keep scalp clean. shampoo your hair with Selsun shampoo daily or alternately.

Always apply hair oil( coconut oil, almond oil) to your hair, never leave it dry. Apply water based lotion or herbal lotion on the face and body. Take food rich in vitamin B6, B12. You can also take supplements to prevent nerve damage. Stay well hydrated, avoid addictions if any. Get clinically examined by a dermatologist, If you have developed fungal infection, you will need an oral course of anti-fungal medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
