General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
However, in some cases, a faint positive result could indicate a new pregnancy, especially if it is accompanied by other pregnancy symptoms. It is recommended that you follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and testing to confirm whether or not you are pregnant.

What Causes Faint Positive Pregnancy Test After Taking Misoprostol?
Hi, Misoprostol can affect pregnancy test results for several weeks after its use, as it may cause the levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) - the hormone detected by pregnancy tests - to remain elevated. This can result in a false positive pregnancy test. However, in some cases, a faint positive result could indicate a new pregnancy, especially if it is accompanied by other pregnancy symptoms. It is recommended that you follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and testing to confirm whether or not you are pregnant. Take care. Hope I have answered your question.
