What Causes Fainting After Receiving A Shot Of Tramadol For Fever?

My son went to the doctor today with 103.5 temp, they did a flu test and strep culture both came back negative. He has a sinus infection. They gave a shot of tramidol and a steroid. He passed out in the office and lightly ceased up. It lasted just a couple of seconds. He was fine after. It has been 5 hours and I went in to check him for fever. His body temp is low 95.4 - 96.5 and he has sweat so much that his blanket is soaked. He says he feels fine he is just really tired is this normal? He has never done this before. Should I take himto the ER

Hi,

I think it is. When fever comes down this happens. But still, if he worsens trust your instincts and take him to ER.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
