What Causes Fainting After Taking Atenolol For Irregular Heart Rate?
My mom is having all kinds of issues with high heart rate (systolic & diastolic) to the tune of 165/106 - it tends yo spike and drop and give a reading of irregular. Her Dr. has been tweaking her dosage of atenolol since a fainting spell. Is this all side effects? Maybe atenolol is not a good match for her anymore after 20 yrs? Other suggestions? Options? Her primary care physician has offered virtually no explanation
I don't think this fainting can be related to atenolol usage. I think it can be a heart issue so she should do an ECG and a heart ultrasound to get checked. Also, blood sugar should be checked.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
