What Causes False Positive Result For Amphetamines While On Xanax And Klonopin?
I went to my pain Dr today he gave me Xanax last month my primary care Dr give me Klonepin I was allergic to it! I stopped it! The P. A. Refused my meds because she said I had amphetamines in me! I tried to tell her I do not do Meth! She still argued with me! Will it show up as amphetamines in my UA ? I ve never done drugs before!

None of these medications (Xanax and Klonopin) are known to cause a 'false positive test' for amphetamines. There is no documented evidence that Xanax or Klonopin can show up as amphetamines in the urine samples. However, it can be ruled out by doing specific tests for amphetamines such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry tests (GC-MS).
