What Causes Fast Heartbeat, Cough, Weakness And Headache?
I have had the flu-fever, heavy cough, weakness, body aches, headache, stuffed nose-for three days and I thought I might be getting better but now Everytime I get up and start to move around my heart races to the point that I have to lay back down. It does not go back to normal until I have been laying down at least 10 min. I am a 58 yr old female who exercises regularly and otherwise in good health. Thank you
In my opinion, you should definitely consult cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, ECG, 2D ECHO, stress test and Holter monitoring (24 hours continuous recording of ECG).
All these are needed to rule out heart diseases like hypertension, arrhythmia (rhythm disturbances in heart) because they can cause similar symptoms and your age is above 50 years. So consult cardiologist and discuss all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
