What Causes Faster Heartbeat, Lightheadedness And Dizziness To A 13 Year Old?

Hello, my daughter is 13 now and when she does alot of exercise involving moving or running arround her heart starts to beat quite fast and sometimes she gets light headed and dizzy. shes only had it a few times now and i was just wondering if it was anything serious or not. shes 13 normal hight a tiny bit over weight. should i be worried about this..?

Hello. Thank you for your question. Light headedness and dizziness in this age group is typically due yo mild dehydration. Your daughter's exercising makes her fluid requirement even higher. She should be encouraged to continue her exercising but pay closer attention to her hydration. Increased fluid intake should help alleviate this problem.
