Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fat Gain Around The Lower Abdomen And Heart Palpitations?
I have been gaining weight in my lower abdomen area while performing strenuous exercise at least 6 times a week. I take med for hypothyroidism and recently had labs, normal thyroid. Low ferritin, low blood cortisol level. Having frequent palpitations and near syncope with standing.
After going through your query I understand your concern.
I would like to tell you that in your blood reports low ferritin levels are suggestive of chronic blood loss leading to anemia. Anemia itself is a cause of palpitations and can cause vasovagal syncope. Again Low cortisol level also cause low Blood pressure leads to lightheadedness and dizzy .
Kindly consult an Endocrinologist for further evaluation & management to correct the Ferritin and Cortisol levels . Also get one ECG , Echocardiography and a Holter monitoring for 48 hours done to rule out any Cardiac abnormality.
Hope to have been Helpful.
Kind Regards Dr. Navneet Bansal
