Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 8 year old non-verbal autistic grandson in very lethargic today which is very unusual. He normally is a very ACTIVE child. He did go swimming 2nights ago with him mom and siblings while we were at a hotel. I m concerned especially with talk of dry drowning that has been in the news as of late. He is not running a fever and his appetite is not usual. Would a trip to ER be warranted? They live out of state so his pediatrician is not readily available.
As you mentioned your child has problem of fatiguness and lack of appetite that may be because of anemia or vitamin b12 deficincey or other reasons.
Consult a pediatrision for further diagnosis and treatment plan. Blood test helpful for diagnosis.. Start a treatment as per reason behind it.. Detail history and investigation give exact idea about problems.
I hope this will help you. Get well soon.. Thank you. Dr Rachana.
