What Causes Fatigue And Difficulty In Breathing While Suffering From Asthma?
sir, I am asthmatic and have been using asthalin / levolin inhealers along with budecard inhealer for the last 10 years. I am getting good relief for asthma. However, as a side effect of the above medication, I have developed polipus in the nose and both the nostrils are getting blocked when ever i leave the air conditioned cool atmosphere. Local ENT specialist informs that only surgery is the recourse and even that is not a cure as the polips can grow again soon. Please suggest what I should do to unblock my nose as I am feeling very tired all day as I have to breath thro my mouth. Thanks and regards.
The polyps in the nose are generally not caused by asthma but both asthma and nasal polyps happen in patients that have atopy (a tendency to develop allergy and reactions).
Treatment for nasal polyps can be started with nasal steroids such as fluticasone nasal one spray each nostril once a day. This should bring some relief to the nasal blockage.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
