What Causes Fatigue And Difficulty In Breathing?

My adult son has been having frequent bouts of energy loss for the last 5 to 7 days for no apparent reason. He lies down in an attempt to recover; usually to no avail. Once in awhile he mentions difficulty breathing. Do I need to take him to an ER when such an event begins?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
He needs to see a doctor soon. He may be anemic or have pneumonia. He really needs an exam, blood tests and possibly a chest x-ray. If the ER is the only way you can get him to see a doctor then yes he should go.
Regards
