My mom is diabetic, her blood sugar was controlled by taking glim 2mg medicine. Last week she had a routine check up in that her fasting blood sugar levels 324mg/dl Uric acid 5.22mg/dl Triglyceride 191 Total cholesterol 185 HDL 41 LDL 106 VERY LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN 38 So after this doctor prescribed Razo 20 with Galvus Met 50mg/850mg one morning and half after dinner. Was told to stop glim 2mg. After starting this medicine she is feeling very tired and dizzy. Also recently she is getting gastric problems and also her stomach has been blown up as a balloon and feels like can t eat anything. Is this any side effect of the medicine. Please kindly advise what to do.
GI upset is common with Metformin component of new medication. The new molecule takes around 3-4 days with the body system to settle down, if the same persists beyond the period of 3-4 days, consult your doc and discuss future line of action.
