What Causes Fatigue And Excessive Sweating?

Hi! I am 52 years old, male, and have been abusing crystal meth for about 2 years. I haven t done any for 2 weeks now, and won t use it again! It was a source of energy and relief in the beginning, but it has turned my life upside-down since. My question is: Will I get my natural energy back any time soon? I was always in good physical shape. I work outdoors and have always been able to take the heat better than most people. That changed over the last 18 months, or so. I have to make myself get out and do things and it is miserable. I tire quickly, and sweat profusely. I have a family history of thyroid problems, but am the only one not diagnosed, as of yet. My last test was over 2 years ago. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! I can understand your distress.

You have been using the drug for 2 years. It is a long-term use, and needs complete health assessment for the damages, to the body and the route which you used, like inhalation or smoking. At your age, the Cardiological health should be checked thoroughly.

The drug you named is highly addictive. If you have stopped the use suddenly, the physical and psychological dependency may cause relapse.

If I was your treating physician, I will advise you to consult professional
de-addiction centre and enrol for a residential program. The rehabilitation involves many specialists, for a successful recovery. Most important is involvement of your family/close relatives/friends/loved ones, who will maintain the drive for deaddiction.

Professional centres have counsellors, who take care of the psychological reasons for addiction, and counsel the family to help you. Interaction with others in the centre also helps a lot.

Please be patient and continue the efforts.

I sincerely hope for your recovery. Please feel free to consult for any help.
