What Causes Fatigue And Exhaustion In A Diabetic Patient?

I m a 76-yr-old female with diabetes, high blood pressure, both contained medically. Under a doctor s orders about a year ago, I was prescribed potassium because my level of potassium was low enough to necessitate immediate hospitalization with blood tranfusions. It hasn t been checked since then other than my annual blood lab draw in June of this year. At that time, my level was 2.6 (L). About 10 days ago, I began to experience the same fatigue, trembling and exhaustion. Could I be experiencing an unsatisfactory level of potassium again? Thank you.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that your symptoms are related to low potassium especially since your last value was low.

Since it was severely low at one point last year and slightly low at with your last blood test, you may want to consider seeing your doctor for an assessment.
He or she would likely suggest a repeat blood test to see where the value is at this time.

I hope this helps
