What Causes Fatigue And Headache After Taking Infusions?
Hello. I am a 45 year old woman and I take InFed infusions several times a year depending on my blood work. It has been about 6 weeks since my last infusion and I have been feeling so very fatigued with some headache and general feeling of blah . My bloodwork reads: WBC 5.92 RBC 4.44 HGB 13.1 HCT 39.4 MCV 88.7 MCH 29.5 MCHC 33.2 PLT 265 RDW-SD 40.7 RDW-CV 12.6 MPV 9.1 NEUT# 3.91 NEUT% 66.1 LYM# 1.21 LYM% 20.4 MONO# 0.59 MONO% 10. EOS# .19 EOS% 3.2 BAS# 0.02 BAS% 0.3 NRBC 0.0 NRBC% 0.0 IG# 0.0 IG% 0.0 Iron 117 UIBC 158 Iron Sat 43 TIBC 275 Ferritin 145 I noticed on my last two blood work papers that the RWD and IG both showed high and low respectively. I also take B12 injections monthly (this has just begun) and prescription Folic acid, I am concerned mostly because I still feel so tired and feel as if I could just stay in bed and sleep. I really can sleep. I am off work for summer or for two months and I have pretty much slept it away or laid around almost sleeping. This would be ok I think if I felt more rested but I wake feeling just as tired as when I laid down. Any help or suggestions, advice would be so greatly appreciated. BTW, I had gastric bypass in 2002 and at that time weighed 312 now I pretty much hold steady at 166 I am 5 71/2 and it was 8 years or so before I found out about my need for iron or InFed, I also had a twisted colon in 2009 that ruptured after surgery leaving me with 3 1/2 feet less descending colon and temporarily with an illeostomy. Don t know if this is need to know but my doctor seems to think that the combo of my RNY and my descending colon caused absorption issues. My bypass was 104 cm in length. Thanks Sandy Thrasher
