Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fatigue And Insomnia In A Patient With Hypertension?
I have just had lab work done and results show high blood pressure, slightly elevated HDL, bicarbonate levels above normal range (by 2 mmil/L) and borderline hypothyroidism. I am suffering from moderate fatigue, insomnia. Could this be something serious?
Did you change any hypertensive drug recently? Usually, beta-blockers may cause fatigue and insomnia. Diuretics may lead to electrolyte imbalance and fatigue.
Insomnia itself causes fatigue. Also, check hypothyroidism or anemia and electrolyte imbalance may cause fatigue.
Do regular exercise and yoga. Eat green leafy vegetable consumption is recommended.
Please consult your physician, he will examine for the cause and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu,
