What Causes Fatigue And Joint Ache After Recovering From Flu?
I m about 2 weeks out after having a mild case of the flu. Can you tell me why I m so tired, feel cold and have achy joints? My only prescription is a 300 mg gabapentin @ bedtime to help with hot flashes. I am a 71 year old fairly active female. Could it be the after effects of the flu or is old age catching up with me?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Feeling tired, cold and achy joints are likely post-flu symptoms. These symptoms may last for several weeks after suffering from flu, and eventually, the body will return to its normal energy and state.
You can do light exercises, drink plenty of water (if no other health-related contraindications) and get enough sleep to help your body to recover faster after the flu.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Malik Amonov
