What Causes Fatigue And Mood Swings After Discontinuing Contraceptives?

I have been on birth control pills for 12 years. I got married in July and wanted to start our family so I went off the pill in April. I had 2 normal periods and then nothing for 5 months.mi have been crying almost everyday for nothing. I feel like I am completely ineffective at work. I am exhausted all the time even though I sleep well. I have never taken better care of myself since I have been eating right and exercising to look good for the wedding. My doctor even did a TSH thyroid test and said it was fine. What can possible be wrong? I ve never felt worse

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The mood swings you are experiencing may come from hormone disbalance. Probably you need to do reproduction hormone levels.

Your periods were normal since you were having contraception pills. Also, a genital tract ultrasound may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
