Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fatigue And Scalp Sensitivity In A Patient With Hypertension?
What would make someone feel extremely fatigued, weak all over and very sensitive when touched on scalp or arms. Person is 69 male who takes meds for high cholesterol. And high blood pressure. He uses a cpap and is not at present considered diabetic.
Your symptoms could be due to an imbalance in electrolytes. Hypertension does not commonly cause these symptoms but the medications that are prescribed to control hypertension like Furosemide, Hydrochlorothiazide, Lisinopril can affect electrolyte levels in your body which can present with symptoms of fatigue, unusual sensitivity to touch. I would recommend getting routine blood tests like CBC, CMP, TSH, LIPID PANEL done. Also, get your Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels checked. Depending on the results of those tests, your doctor will determine further management of your symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saralkumar R. Desai, General & Family Physician
