Actually, with
diastolic heart failure, it is important to treat
high blood pressure, which your doctor is doing with Losartan. Other than that, the only other medication that might help you is a
diuretic to help you get rid of extra fluid, but this would only help if you do in fact have too much fluid backing up into the lungs and other parts of your body. It may be that your doctor has already determined you do not, but at least this is something you could discuss with him.
Other things that can help are exercise,
weight loss if you are
overweight, and limiting your salt and alcohol intake.
Unfortunately, sometimes when we have heart failure, no matter what medications we use, patients will feel tired and short of breath. I hope this is not the case for you and that your heart failure will improve.
