What Causes Fatigue And Shortness Of Breath While On Prozac?
My son is 24 yrs old and has been on Prozac (30) for 2 years because of depression. He also takes a medication for heart burn. He takes 150 mg of immuran also as he has crohn s. He is tired all the time and can stay in bed for 18 hours and still feel tired. He complains a lot about shortness of breath and says if he tries to exercise he feels like he s going to pass out??
Depression itself may cause fatigue and generalised weakness. Chron's disease itself causes decreased absorption of nutrients to lead to generalized weakness.
Breathlessness may be due to respiratory or cardiac problems. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get it done ECG, haemoglobin status, x-ray chest and thyroid profile.
Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
