What Causes Fatigue, Head Ache And Poor Appetite?

My father is 60 years old and slim. He does not have any problems in health before until this month. He experiences fatigue , headaches and poor appetite. I also noticed that he becomes much thinner. We went to the doctor today and did a blood exam. Here are the significant results :Urea 35 mmol/L, Creatinine 943 mmol/L, AST 16 U/L, ALT 17 U/L, ESR 70mm/hr, RBC 2.04 x10^12/L, Hemoglobin 66 g/L and hematocrit 18%. What do you think my father is experiencing now?

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

Your father is having Kidney failure along with anemia both of which explains his symptoms.

He needs to get evaluation for the cause of his kidney failure and depending on the stage of his kidney failure he shall be advised either medical management or Hemodialysis.

Similarly he needs evaluation for the cause of low Hemoglobin ( though Kidney failure can cause low hemoglobin , other causes also has to be looked into ).

I advise you to consult a Nephrologist, he shall advise certain tests like Peripheral Smear for blood picture , Serum Iron and ferritin levels , Ultrasound Abdomen Pelvis and Urine routine .

If your father's fatigue is very much I advise him to get a Blood transfusion done .

. Hope you find this information useful.
Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask.
