What Causes Fatigue, Shortness Of Breath And Shivering Legs?

Dad has trouble getting air...shortness of breath, extreme fatigue...also seems to show signs of hypoglocemia, legs shaking. Has been checked...installed a defibrillator/pacemaker to stimulate heart rate. Doctors found no blockage but heart seemed to be weak. After the procedure...still has shortness of breath from walking to bathroom and back...no energy. Wondering what areas to look into with doctors??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Apart from heart conditions, I would suggest two things:
- Detecting (by blood check up) presence of anemia / less oxygen carrying capacity of RBCs
- Pulmonary function test to judge amount of fresh air inches (can be decreased due to chronic obstructive respiratory diseases
You should consult a Hematologist / a chest specialist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
