What Causes Fatigue, Stomach Pain And Throat Pain In A 12 Year Old Boy?

12 year old boy, fatigue, stomache ache, throat aches, he said he is seeing things just before he went to bed (tonight). No fever, teachers have been saying he has not been participating in class for the past three days. He has also been falling asleep in class. Last week he stayed home two days because of what we think was an anexiety attack in the morning before school. While he was home he seemed ok. Not sure what is going on

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of fatigue, stomach pain and throat pain. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like consuming foods known to cause gas in some people, such as milk products and beans, inadequate fibres in diet, crohn’s disease , gastroenteritis intestinal obstruction , irritable bowel syndrome and urinary tract infection. It could be due to gastroesophageal reflux disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy , CT scan and examine physically . Doctor may prescribe omeprazole ,laxative , antacid , antibiotics like ornidazole and anti viral drug. You should avoid taking any outside food. For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain , eat light and no spicy and take light walk daily .
